Another concert. Am I lucky or what?? KEANE <3
GUESS WHAT EVERYONE?? I WENT TO THE KEANE CONCERT IN DUBAI!
IT WAS AMAZING!
That should get you reading :)
Last Wednesday a band called Keane came to Dubai. You should have heard of them. If you haven't, look them up on YouTube. They're sort of the same genre as Coldplay. Anyways, back to the point, they came on Wednesday, and I went!!! :D
I got there sometime between seven and seven-thirty. The doors opened at seven, apparently, and the show was supposed to start at nine... so my older sister, who I went with, and I, had two hours of waiting to do 'til Keane came on. We managed to get a spot right at the front of the whole hall. I could nearly touch the railing at the beginning, and by the end I actually could. So, my sister and I had been waiting there for about forty-five minutes when we got all excited because someone came onto the stage. We couldn't see who it was, but we guessed it was someone from the opening band, whom we thought would come out at eight, before Keane. There he is. Anyways, we were right. Around eight Neil Harrison came on with his band Beat Antenna - they're a Dubai band. They were actually pretty good. They made a few jokes, and they seemed nice. Just before nine, they said they were going to play their last song, and then they played a song and went off. We had to wait til five past nine for Keane - but they made a great entrance with 'The Lovers are Losing.' I love that song.
They played their way through amazing songs... At a point, Tom (Tom Chaplin, Lead Vocalist + Lead Guitarst) jumped into the crowd. I was literally two inches from touching him, but I just couldn't reach! It was actually really funny, he looked really scared and could barely continue singing. He didn't do that again. LOL.
Tom was drenched in sweat by half way through. He was like, "It's hot in here, isn't it?" A bit of an understatement.
He played a load of my fave songs, including A Bad Dream and Nothing in my Way.That's Tom in the centre, and Tim on the right, on the keyboard. Behind Tom is Richard on the drums. On the left, as you can see, is Jesse. They played Crystal Ball, Everybody's Changing and Somewhere only we know also... they were amazing.
That's Crystal Ball, just before the chorus. One of my fave songs.
Another thing I really liked was the acoustic version of We Might as Well be Strangers. Tom played it during his "private time" with the Dubai crowd when the other guys were taking a break.
He also gave this long speech-ish thing about Dubai and how its made to look in the UK and how it's actually a really nice, warm, welcoming place, and they played Perfect Symmetry. The whole band. Also Spiralling. After one of their more popular songs Tom laughed and said, "When you play in places, it's cool to discover what songs are more popular there. I guess that was popular!" And he kept thanking the crowd for being so cool, and all that. They came back for an encore after they said bye, too, just like Ryan Seacrest said people do.
OH! One more thing. I hope Beat Antenna doesn't read this, they'd get freaked. At the end, me and my sister wanted Keane's autograph, but we didn't know where they were. But we thought, if not Keane then Beat Antenna, cuz they were good too. The dummer, I think Joe was his name, and Andy, the guitarist, were standing up in the VIP section right at the back, with some security people. We wanted to go talk to them, and no-one else was paying attention to them, so we felt sorry for them. We were just contemplating how to get past the security when they started walking into the non-VIP seating section without the security. We were just down below the seats, so as they started walking along the side to backstage, we followed them. They went down the stairs into backstage and we tried to go there, but a security guy saw us and walked over. It was irritating. We could see all four of Beat Antenna but we had no way of going to talk to them. And then on the way out, my sister kept looking through doors, and she even went to a back exit saying, "You think we should wait for Keane to come out this way, or Beat Antenna? I think they'll come this way!" But then my mum came to pick us up, so we had to leave :( LOL... another time then!! Anyways, KEANE WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU TOM, TIM, RICHARD, JESSE!!!!! (And beat antenna, of course)

Michael Jackson <3 RIP.
We've all heard the sad news, haven't we? Well, if you haven't, here it comes: Michael Jackson, the greatest performer and entertainer of all time and an amazing singer also, has passed away.
We'll all remember him. No matter what you said about him, even though people around the world considerd him 'weird,' everyone, everywhere knew his name. He was considered to be 'up there' with the Beatles an Frank Sinatra. HE WAS LEGEND.
It all started, as you all know, when he was young, with the Jackson Five.
His skills were recognized early - and so he soon took of with his solo career...
Which was also a huge success. His biggest hit was, possibly, Thriller.
His songs may have been amazing after as well, but they always lived in the shadow of Thriller.
What I also find amazing and really nice is the fact that people aren't changing what they say about him even after his death. People have always said, "Michael Jackson, the Thriller, the greatest entertainer ever." They aren't just going mushy on him only after his death.
But what I don't like is that everyone considered everything Jackson did to be a publicity stunt. It was just that he was a troubled guy. I mean, was this a publicity stunt?? Did he die to get cameras on him?? I don't think so.
Some people think he's alive. Apparently people are saying that he's just pretending so he can live quietly away from the press. Imagine how he must be feeling (if he is alive) about so many people crying over him? However, I guess that's hard to believe... I mean, they did an autopsy and all that. Anyways, you can research on that. I don't know much.
Well, whatever people think - just remember Michael in a good light. He did what he could with his life. He changed and made many contributions to the world of pop that can never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace, Michael Jackson, King of Pop. We love you and will always miss you.

This and that and end of exams. AND OF COURSE THE COLDPLAY CONCERT <3
Oh, IT lab again, and bored again. Anna's playing N-Ball this time. you should play that too, it is fun. Exams are over, we have all our marks! Humanities, 37/38, Maths 7/8, Science, 6/6... I really can't bother to say all the rest. Anyways, I did well. By the way this is for my Humanities teacher who probably will read this because he was figuritively begging me to give him my blogspot URL. I gave him this one.
What else did I want to say? OH YES. Has anyone ever been to a Coldplay concert? GO. It's amazing, not only because of the music, but also because of the effects, lights, props, atmosphere and above all else Chris Martin. They give it the best feeling. I am not saying that only because I'm obsessed - anyone would think that. Even my father, who is no Coldplay fan, grudgingly admitted the one we went to in Abu Dhabi was truly amazing. The concert started at nine and it was a Saturday night before school on Sunday, but I really wouldn't have missed it for anything. The opening act, Mercury Rev, was okay. They started at eight or so. Everyone there, from the looks of it, was begging for Coldplay. The rain was pouring down by the time Mercury Rev was gone and it was freezing. My jacket wasn't waterproof, so it was soaked too, but I didn't mind, because I was at a Coldplay concert!! Come to think of it, I should've brought a better jacket. But who would expect rain in late March in a place where it rains once a decade, as Chris said? Anyways, Coldplay made a stunning entrance by bursting into Violet Hill without warning anyone. It was all dark, people were impatient, and all of a sudden - Was a long and dark December, Rooftops I remember, There was snow... White snow... it was way too cool. And even better, Guy was looking better than he normally did (if that is possible) and Chris' voice was amazing. And Jonny's hat looked like he'd just washed and ironed it. Too bad - it was probably soaked by the end ;). Will was doing amazingly as well. If amazingly is a word.
After singing Violet Hill, they stopped and said Hello to the crowd. They went on to perform some more. During In My Place, Jonny and Chris went out onto the B-Stage - the one connected to the stage but sticking into the crowd - and performed it. It's so sweet how they're best friends. When they were done with the B-Stage and a few more songs, they ran out onto the C-Stage - the one right in the middle - and sang, I think, Green Eyes and then Death Will Never Conquer, with Will singing. They then sand I'm A Believer and talked to the crowd. They were met by a staggeringly loud reply :) then Chris cracked a few jokes about Emirates Palace, the hotel, and about how it barely rains. And they went back to the stage.
They called a girl in the front whose birthday it was onto the stage. *Jealous Much.* He sang the Hardest Part for her. They also sang Viva La Vida and told us we were the best audience for being so enthusiastic and putting up with the rain at the same time. When they went off, people, including me, kept singing the 'oh oh ooooh oh oooooooooooh oh' of the background of Viva La Vida. So they came back for an encore. Twice. I don't remember what they closed with, but I think it was LiT. During LiTii, I collected the typical colourful butterflies they shoot out - paper ones of course. I caught them from mid-air, and still have them three months later :). And when we left, there was major traffic. It was funny. We finally left around midnight, and got back to Dubai where we live around three hours later. So, I reached at five and left at midnight - 7 hours - okay.
Well, the bell just rang and I have Humanities next! See you!!

Not confirmed yet. :) and sorry about any spelling mistakes or typos in these first two posts... like 'intrests.' I KNOW what it's supposed to be ;) 'interests'
Anyways. I just HAD to post about the coldplay track in New Moon (which, for those of you who dont know, is the sequel to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight) and now I have to go finish writing my C&S reflection...

My First Post!!!
HI EVERYONE.
My old blog sorta died down, I hadn't checked it for ages. I even forgot the email adress I used to start it. So, I decided to start a new one.
I guess the blog's going to have anything about my intrests, what I've been doing, and what I want to do... just like a lot of others. So read it if you want. But before you start, I'm warning you, there will be a LOT of Coldplay and music stuff on here. I'm over obsessed. And there will be a LOT, because as my title says, I am very bored. Summer is starting, that's why.
Anyways, intrests also include... watching sports, like cricket, football (aka soccer. But I call it football) etc. And I love music. That's my number one hobby. I can play the guitar, piano, viola, cello, and I can play Mary Had A Little Lamb on the clarinet AND the trumpet. Own that. ;)
I'm good at school work, mostly top of the class. I enjoy playing on the computer. I read a lot, too. My favorite book is the Da Vinci Code. And right now, I'm sitting in IT class at school and typing this blog, because I've finished my work... at least I'm not the only one. Anna, on my right, is playing Spider Solitare, and Lauren, on my left, is looking at pictures of horses. Fun, right? Oh, look, now Anna is trying to play minesweeper. And Lauren is playing bubble struggle 2. It's actually a pretty good game. Try it: http://www.rebubbled.com/
Well. I think I'd better go. Bell is about to ring. Then I have to log off and go to Humanities. And Mr. D, out Humanities teacher, it pretty strict. The best teacher ever, and great person to talk to, but strict.
Next post coming soon - when I've finished with the homework.
:)
PS. In case you are wondering why there arent that many labels, I'm in a hurry. By the way, Coldplay will be tagged in every post. Almost. If not Coldplay, Maroon 5, Nickelback, Iron Maiden, REM or the Rolling Stones. Or someone.
